I WORKED 2 HOURS
17 HOURS WORKED IN ALL
Today We learned about the worksheets the people need to fill out befor they adopt a cat. what we need to know if they ask any qestions and what animals to take them to that match their work sheet. We also learned how to box a cat. Then she gave us a tour of the whole SPCA. She took us to the older hospital. Then she showed us the ER. I really liked it, I think I found my future career. I always wanted to work with animals but I also was thinking of other things. But seeing The ER, I loved the enviorment everything. The hospital was so clean and healthy. Its kitten season and the first batch were born and we saw them and they were so cute. I didnt work with the animals today but im glad I know my way around everywere.

POST 7
3/21/09: I worked from 10 to 12

Today was my second day of training.Today I got my apprin and my afficial name tag. I was really excited. We reviewed everything we learned. For example after seeing a cat change your toy and wash your hands because you could spread germs to each cat.Then after we went straight to work. I worked with a big fat cat he was pretty. I held a big fat bunny he was cute too. I've learned so much already. How to work with the animals and with the customers. We also got a tour of the dog areas. I learned a horribal thing today. Sandra said if a customer ask's about declawing tell them to ask the front desk about that. Declawing is when they cut the layer of the cats knuckle off so they dont scrath you. But they cant survive out side without their nails. Thats horrible i dont understand that. I really like my WLE.

Today was my first day of training. I learned how to socialize with sheltered cats. I learned about feline body languge. I leaned how to deal with fearful cats. I learned about the diffrent sighns to look out for when cats are agressive. Sandra told us about the diffrent people that work in the area. She also tod us about what people might ask if they want to adobt for example If they want to get a male or female, we should say it doesnt matter its what you want their is no diffrence in geneder. Sandra let us go in a room with a cat for our first time and it was great.

I really didnt do anything just talk to the people about working their and what i was doing then I watched over a dog for along time so nothing big. I met Terri and Sandra about the project.

3/11/09: I worked from 11 to 2

This week when i got to my WLE Sandra was explaing to me about walking the dog BEAR. showing me how to do that. Then i walked BEAR FOR about 15 minutes. When i got back she told me that they made a mistake on the pamphlets the week befor so I would have to make another 1,000 copies. I was first shocked because thats very tiering. When i got to the accountings office everyone remembered me from last time. so they were very nice. while I was doing that Everyone was talking to me and I thought this really works in my favor because those people will know me and at the end the'll know me as a person and help me with my project or help me later on with a job or somthing. They could help me learn new things. I also played with guiniepigs for about an hour.

7 HOURS WORKED IN ALL.
This was my first actull day. All i did was make 1,000 copies of pamphlets for the SPCA summer camp. I stood bythe copy machine in the accountints office making copies and folding all 1,000 copies. Ya it was hard and took me all five hours but I was in another department of the SPCA. I met alot of people.
I learned about all diffrent departments in the SPCA. Such as the ER, accountings office and the program offices. My first impressions was really good every body was really nice and I love my working enviorment.

my Internship is helping me work in very diffrent enviorments such as diffrent kinds of offices, meeting new people. For my project I would want to show the learing experience of working with animals or diffrent experience in working of working in an organizaton such as the SPCA. thats were I would like to work later in my future.
In my project I could show a real animal and show how we could help them or take special care of them or i could show all the new things i learened on what needs to be done in an office working in an organization. For example what needs to be done to work their, what projects are done and other specific things are done in the SPCA.
